Vortrag-Titel:

Intercultural Couples: Clinical Considerations

Vortrag-Beschreibung:

Intercultural, interracial and interfaith couples are on the rise in Europe, and all over the world. In this talk, I will provide a theoretical and research overview on intercultural couples, drawing on the findings from a multi-site, pan European research study. I will discuss themes and processes that are salient in intercultural couples, with a particular focus on the role of language and communication in transgenerational trauma. Through the use of case vignettes and recorded extracts from clinical practice, I will highlight a few clinical interventions. There will be time for questions and discussion.
